Donnie Bowling
Biography
Donnie Bowling is a prolific indie folk/folk rock songwriter from the hills of Eastern Kentucky. Donnie writes about the things he feels are most important to express and share with others, therefore his lyrics have a stark honesty to them, and his songwriting style is authentic and sincere. A recurring theme in his music is the idea of searching for our place in this short life, and the relationships and roles that time plays within it. His heartfelt lyrics resonate deeply within the space and mood he sets and leaves within his songs.
2018 was a very exciting year for Donnie: the year ended with the release of two EPs - “Western: The Reset,” and “Finding Ways to Get By” - with the help of J. Tom Hnatow (Horse Feathers, Vandaveer, Justin Wells) and Shangri-la Productions (Ringo Starr, Ben Sollee) in downtown Lexington, Kentucky.
In early 2019 Donnie is anticipating the release of his first full-length album, again enlisting the help of Hnatow and Shangri-la Productions.
